土地の造成の記憶を引き込んだ工房
宝塚市清荒神の傾斜地に建っている築50年の倉庫を、クライアントの趣味である陶芸の場にリノベーションしたプロジェクトである。住居となる隣の母屋の改修に大半の費用を費やしたため、いかにローコストで陶芸に相応しい場をつくるかがポイントとなった。
倉庫の図面は現存しておらず、測量によって現況図を復元し、まずは当時の壁、天井等の仕上げ要素を徹底的に引き算することにした。その結果、東面の壁は腐食が激しく、いつ崩壊してもおかしくない厳しい状況だとわかった。その一方で、50年前の造成、建築構造があらわとなり、造成と仕上げの狭間に隠されていた三角形断面の空間が発掘され、場に広がりが生まれていた。建築がまるで崖に寄生しているかのような不思議な均衡状態を、私はあえてそのまま見せることにした。費用のこともあったが、なによりも造成の石や建築の鉄という鉱物的な要素が、土を扱う陶芸に共鳴するマテリアルだと感じたからである。
内部のインテリアは、費用を抑えるために、母屋の照明を再利用し、階段部材をシェルフへ再生した。家具は、クライアントが長年、アンティークショップ、ネットショップで買いためていたものを配置した。道路よりも低いレベルにあった1階東面は、補修するともに新たな開口部を設け、斜面の緑と風の抜けを建物に取り込んだ。
こうして完成したのが、造成、建築、自然が一体となった「崖のアジト」である。
The pottery workshop that drew in the memories of the land’s creation
It is a project of renovation, a 50-year-old warehouse on the slope of Kiyoshikojin in Takarazuka City, which was turned into a pottery workshop, a hobby of the client.
We spent most of the cost to renovated the purlin, next to the residence, so we had to find out how to make the place suitable for pottery work at a low cost.
The key to this project was to create a new building. Since the plans did not exist, we restored the present drawing by surveying. We decided to subtract the finishing elements thoroughly. As a result, we found that the east-facing wall was severely corroded and could collapse. On the other hand, the 50-year-old construction and architectural structure were exposed and hidden between the construction and finishes. A triangular cross-section of space had been unearthed, and an expanse of space had been created.
I dared to keep the strange equilibrium of the architecture as if it were a parasite on a cliff. I decided to show them. It was a matter of cost, but more than anything else, the mineral elements of the building stones and the iron of the construction resonated with the earthenware, this is because I felt that the material is a material that can be used to.
We had to reduce the cost of the interior design, so we had reused the lighting in the main house and the staircase members as shelves. And furniture-related items that the clients had bought from antique shops and online stores over the years. Things were placed. And on the east side of the first floor, which is located at a lower level than the road, a new opening was created with the repair of the slope and the greenery and wind. The building incorporates a wind’s loophole in the house.
